How and When Colorado Became a State
In 1876 (shortly after the Civil War), many settlers moved into Colorado. Since the population increased so rapidly, it gradually gained its statehood by the number of population it contained. The population increased even more after achieved its statehood, for more recreation, such as perfect weather for agriculture, became popular and was an attraction for many. Technology also made its way into Colorado- the transcontinental telegraph was already made in 1861. Telephones were also made in 1863, making Colorado being the first state to be able to call other states by phone.
